I did mention that in the footnote 4. If your boot partition is same as the root partition the you would make that change.

I guess this should work on Ubuntu too. This is PAM based which is not specific to Fedora.

This does not work in Ubuntu, the thing is that the “gdm” file looks completely different that in Fedora… Could make a tutorial for Ubuntu and post here the link? I’ve been searching for the answer for a long time, but nothing works.

It looks like they’re working on the fix in Canonical… But users want to have it here&now!

Very nice tutorial. Although the last step needs to be fixed:

From: gfxmenu (hd0,X)/message
To : gfxmenu (hd0,X)/boot/message

as the theme file located in boot directory not at the root.
